Ugandan cinema is abuzz with the upcoming premiere of "The Care Giver," a film by Tick Bedside Nursing Care. This innovative project marks the company's foray into filmmaking and tackles a crucial yet under-addressed topic: professional home care for the elderly.

"The Care Giver" serves a dual purpose. It sheds light on the critical need for home-based nursing services for seniors, while also educating audiences on effective caregiving practices. The film explores the importance of family support, home safety, medical attention, cognitive health, mobility assistance, personal hygiene, meal preparation, and social interaction for the elderly.

In Uganda, many seniors face neglect or inadequate care from grandchildren due to a lack of awareness or the misconception that professional care is a luxury. "The Care Giver" aims to dispel these myths by showcasing the benefits and surprising affordability of professional home care options.

"We invite everyone to join us for this informative and entertaining experience," says Margaret Busingye Bashaija, Executive Director of Tick Bedside Nursing Care. "The film will demonstrate how professional caregivers can ensure the well-being of our elderly loved ones."

The highly anticipated premiere takes place on April 26th, 2024, at the National Theatre in Kampala. The event boasts the presence of distinguished guests: Hon Chris Baryomunsi, Minister of ICT and National Guidance, and Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago. Tickets are available for purchase at 20,000 shillings (Ordinary) and 50,000 shillings (VIP).
